A man from Samarkand who transported nearly 20 kilograms of opium from Tajikistan was arrested (video)

A citizen living in the Samarkand region was caught while transporting nearly 20 kilograms of opium from Tajikistan.  This was reported by Uzbek News Agency.

It is noted that the citizen, who was born in 1997, was detained in the part of the Uzbek-Tajik state border passing through the territory of the Urgut district.  19 kilograms and 799 grams of "opium" substance smuggled from the neighboring Republic of Tajikistan were obtained from it in procedural order.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against this citizen by the Department of the State Security Service for Samarkand region under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code.

It should be recalled that 6 kilograms 403 grams of "opium" substance brought from Tajikistan were found in the house of a citizen in the Samarkand region.
