Gas supply restoration expected after pipeline incident in Tashkent

6383Gas supply has been temporarily suspended in several areas of Tashkent due to an incident involving a damaged gas pipeline. The "Hududgazta'minot" Joint-Stock Company reported that an excavator struck a gas pipeline on Sodiq Azimov Street in the Yashnobod district, leading to disruptions in multiple districts.
The affected areas include:
- Mirabod district:
- 300 apartments in 16 buildings on Nukus Street.
- 120 apartments in 8 buildings on the Small Ring Road.
- 110 apartments in 2 buildings on Yahyo Gulomov Street.
- Mirzo Ulugbek district:
- 100 apartments in 2 buildings.
- 2 wholesale consumers in C-1.
- Yashnobod district:
- 1,116 apartments in 34 buildings.
- 150 individual apartments.
- 65 wholesale consumers.
- Yunusobod district:
- 1,600 apartments in 40 buildings in S-4.
- 200 apartments in 3 buildings on Kablukov Street.
Repair efforts are currently underway, with an emergency brigade from "Hududgaz Poytaxt" GTF working to resolve the issue. "After the repair work is completed, natural gas supply will be restored with prior notice to consumers," the company stated.
This is not the first such incident in Uzbekistan. Earlier, in the Syrdarya region, 200 apartments were left without electricity when a Nexia driver crashed into an electric pole, highlighting the vulnerabilities in infrastructure that can lead to significant disruptions.
