A mass poisoning incident occurred at the "Muhteshem Doner" restaurant in Tashkent, according to the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee.

On September 6-8 of this year, a total of 23 individuals with symptoms of food poisoning were reported. Of these, 22 were admitted to the clinic at the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious, and Parasitic Diseases, while 1 was taken to the Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 4 in Tashkent.

Preliminary information indicates that all affected individuals dined at the "Muhteshem Doner" restaurant in Yunusabad district on September 5, 2024. Following treatment, the condition of the patients improved, and 13 were discharged by 09:00 on September 12.

"Treatment of the remaining 10 patients continues, and positive changes in their condition are being observed. All patients are in satisfactory condition," stated the Sanepid Committee report.

The restaurant's operations have been temporarily suspended. Samples of leftover food are being collected, and laboratory tests are ongoing.

Initial epidemiological investigations suggest that the poisoning may have been caused by the sauce prepared at the restaurant, which was consumed by all affected individuals.

We remind readers that more than 50 people were previously affected by food poisoning during a wedding ceremony in the Bukhara region.
