Women who insulted and blackmailed traffic police officer in Tashkent punished (video)

On May 29, a video of a confrontation between a woman and a traffic police officer in Tashkent went viral on social media. The press service of the Traffic Safety Department under the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city has provided details regarding the incident.

According to the report, a traffic officer stopped a Gentra vehicle and discovered that the driver was using a monitor while driving. The officer proceeded to issue an administrative citation, but the driver refused to sign the report and resisted the officer's actions. At that moment, a woman approached and began verbally abusing the officer. Despite the resistance, the officer issued the fine in the presence of witnesses.

Subsequent checks revealed that the woman who intervened had previously been stripped of her driving privileges and did not have a permit for the tinted windshield on her vehicle. As a result, her car was impounded, and an administrative report was initiated. She continued to resist the police’s lawful actions.

"They started recording, and I grabbed the phone to prevent the video from being shared. Then they said the car would be taken to the impound lot. I resisted. We went to the penalty area. Out of anger, I used offensive language without realizing it. This incident taught me a lesson. I regret my actions and sincerely apologize to the officer and to the public," the woman later said.

By court decision, the woman was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 41 (Insult) and Article 194 (Failure to comply with the lawful orders of an internal affairs officer) of the Code of Administrative Offenses. She was fined 30 times the basic calculation amount.

The male driver was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 183 (Minor hooliganism) and Part 1 of Article 194. He was sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention.

Another woman involved was also found guilty under Part 1 of Article 194 and fined three times the basic calculation amount.

It is worth noting that earlier in the Navoi region, a citizen who insulted public servants performing their official duties was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention.
