Expired drugs worth 2.2 billion soums were seized in Tashkent

2178Authorities in Tashkent have seized expired drugs valued at 2.2 billion soums, preventing them from entering circulation. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.
During a swift operation conducted by the Tashkent city administration, in cooperation with Customs officers, it was discovered that individuals connected to the private enterprise "A.Ph." had been storing expired drugs in a non-residential building located in the 15th district of Yunusabad. The drugs, with a total value of 2.2 billion soums, were confiscated as physical evidence.
In response to this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the production, preparation, acquisition, storage, transportation, or transfer of low-quality or counterfeit drugs or medical products. Investigations are currently ongoing.
It is worth noting that the State Customs Committee previously reported the discovery of a secret workshop in Ferghana that was producing counterfeit drugs valued at 625 million soums.
