Kindergarten tutor in Almalyk accused of beating disabled child

A tutor at a kindergarten in Almalyk, Tashkent region, has been caught on video physically abusing a disabled child, sparking widespread outrage on social media. The National Agency for Social Protection’s regional office in Tashkent confirmed the incident.

The abuse took place on November 22, 2024, at Almalyk City multidisciplinary specialized special state preschool educational institution No. 19. The tutor, identified as Q.D., assaulted a student, S.A., who was born in 2020 and resides in the “H.Olimjon” mahalla of Almalyk.

"The Almalyk City “Inson” social services center has taken control of the situation and has filed an appeal with the Almalyk City Internal Affairs Department to investigate the tutor’s actions and enforce appropriate legal measures. The case is currently under investigation," the report states.

In addition, the Children’s Social Protection Department of the “Inson” Social Services Center is monitoring the child’s health. S.A., still a minor, has been referred for an in-depth medical examination to assess their condition.

This incident follows another recent case in Tashkent, where a tutor was dismissed after forcing a young boy to wear girls’ clothing and applying makeup to his face.
