14873Sh.A., a judge at the Sergeli District Court handling criminal cases in Tashkent, was apprehended while trying to return a $15,000 bribe, as reported by QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to the source, the judge initially accepted the bribe and was later caught in a swift operation while attempting to return it.
It's worth noting that previously, a judge from the Chiroqchi Inter-District Court dealing with civil cases, A.B., was apprehended for accepting a $200 bribe. The Supreme Council of Judges, upon reviewing the Prosecutor General's submission to prosecute the judge under Article 210 of the Criminal Code, agreed to prosecute and suspended his judicial authority. Additionally, last year, a judge from the Yashnobod District Court was sentenced to five years in prison for accepting a $4,000 bribe in criminal cases.
