Spark vehicle fatally hits pedestrian in Tashkent

Tragedy struck yesterday in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent as a 28-year-old citizen lost their life after being struck by a Spark car. The General Directorate of Internal Affairs of the capital confirmed the incident.

According to official reports, at approximately 08:10 on June 16, citizen N.S., behind the wheel of a Spark vehicle, collided with A.T., born in 1995, while the pedestrian was crossing an unregulated sidewalk in Yashnabad district.

Sadly, pedestrian A.T. succumbed to their injuries on the spot. In response to this devastating incident, the Investigative Department of the IIBB of Tashkent city has launched a criminal case under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is currently ongoing.

In light of this tragic event, authorities are urging all drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations. "We ask all drivers to follow the rules," stated the official report.

It is worth noting that another fatal accident occurred earlier in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent, involving an ISUZU bus and a Lacetti car, claiming the life of one individual.

The incidents serve as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for heightened awareness among drivers and pedestrians alike. Authorities continue to emphasize the significance of adhering to traffic laws to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
