A person involved in the sale of substandard medicines worth $16,600 has been apprehended in Tashkent. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the report, during an operation conducted jointly by the Bektemir district division of the department and the State Security Service, a citizen identified as F.O. was caught attempting to illegally sell foreign-manufactured ARAGAN medicines that lacked quality certification. F.O. agreed to sell 1,000 units of the medicine to citizen M.X. for 215 million soums, receiving payment in U.S. dollars amounting to $16,600.

Investigative procedures are currently underway.

It is worth noting that earlier in Fergana, an attempt to sell uncertified medicines worth 8 billion soums and medical equipment valued at 400 million soums was successfully prevented.
