4683Citizens who established an illegal casino in their homes were arrested in Tashkent, according to a report by the city's General Department of Internal Affairs.
It was noted that a swift operation was conducted in the Yakkasaray district in collaboration with the MDIA and other law enforcement agencies. Acting on prompt information received, an impartial inspection of a house in the district revealed that risky online gambling activities were being conducted in a residence rented by foreign nationals.
As material evidence during the operation, authorities seized 37 laptops, $1,400 in cash, 34 SIM cards, 7 phones, and 12 bank plastic cards. The investigation revealed that $900,000 had been laundered through this casino over three months. Twelve foreign nationals and eighteen Uzbek citizens were arrested as suspects.
"In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 278 of the Criminal Code (Organization and conduct of other games based on risk), and a preventive measure of detention was applied to the accused," the report stated.
