Illegal sale of endangered falcon leads to arrests in Tashkent

In a significant crackdown on wildlife trafficking, individuals involved in the illicit sale of a falcon listed in the Red Book were apprehended in Tashkent. The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change confirmed the arrests, highlighting the seriousness of the offense.

According to official reports from the Press Service of the Ministry, the incident took place on Shirin Street, located in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent city. Citizen A.Sh. was caught red-handed attempting to sell a falcon, which was classified as an endangered species in the Red Book, as determined by M.A. The authorities discovered that the falcon had been illegally traded without the necessary permits.

As a temporary measure, the confiscated falcon has been transferred to the Tashkent zoo. The relevant documentation pertaining to this case has been submitted to the Uchtepa District Court on Criminal Cases for a comprehensive legal evaluation.

It is important to note that the individuals involved in this incident have violated Article 21 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Nature Protection" and Article 90 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
