A student accused of selling human organs has been sentenced in Tashkent, as reported by QALAMPIR.UZ after reviewing the court verdict.

According to the court documents, the young man, born in 2003, posted advertisements on social media offering to buy human organs in exchange for large sums of money. In his ads, he claimed he would purchase a kidney for $38,000, a liver for $43,000, and bone marrow for $23,000.

Following this announcement, individuals looking to sell their organs began contacting him. One such person was informed by the student that he would buy a kidney for the advertised price. He claimed to have partners in Germany who would handle the kidney transplant and stated that he needed to travel to Germany for the procedure. To facilitate this, he requested an advance payment of $350 for the trip.

On April 26, the student was arrested in the Shaykhontohur district while receiving the agreed payment during a swift operation conducted by law enforcement agencies. He was subsequently placed in custody.

In court, the student explained that he engaged in this activity out of financial desperation. He admitted to having no connections in Germany and indicated that he intended to use the $350 for personal needs, with plans to return the money later. He also mentioned that he, along with his brother and sister, were all students studying under contractual agreements, and he pleaded with the court for leniency.

At the hearing held in the Shaykhontohur district court on criminal cases, the 21-year-old was charged with offenses under Article 25 (preparation and attempt to commit a crime) and Article 133-1, part 1 (trade of human organs and/or tissues). He was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison
