The summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization is held in Tashkent

On November 8-9, the sixteenth summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
Heads of state and government from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey are expected to participate in the event.


In accordance with the agenda, issues related to the further expansion of trade, economic, investment, transport, communication, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the improvement of the activities of this multilateral structure, will be considered within the framework of the ECO.


As part of the summit program, the leader of Uzbekistan will hold a number of bilateral meetings.


The Economic Cooperation Organization was founded in 1985, and its permanent secretariat is located in Tehran. The Republic of Uzbekistan has been a member of the ECO since 1992. The last summit of this organization was held in Turkmenistan in November 2021.


We would like to remind you that due to this summit, traffic will be restricted on some streets of Tashkent from November 8 to November 10 of this year. In addition, on November 8 and 9, during the ECO summit, the entry of cargo vehicles into the city of Tashkent will be partially restricted.
