Man assaults his four-year-old grandson in Tashkent

A video showing an elderly man striking a child in the face has been widely shared on social media, prompting a response from the children's ombudsman.
The incident occurred on June 30 in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent city. The retired man, M.A., was with his grandson, A.A., who was born in 2020. During their walk, the boy ran off, causing his grandfather to worry and search for him. When he eventually found the boy far from home, in front of a school, he hit him several times out of anger.
"Currently, as part of the preliminary investigation, a forensic examination has been ordered to determine the extent of the child's injuries. Further information will be provided in due course," the report stated.
