Man detained in Tashkent for stealing donation box

A video circulated on social media showing an unidentified individual stealing a donation box installed near a shop, sparking widespread discussion. The Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs has commented on the incident.

According to reports, at around 6:00 p.m. on January 28 this year, an unknown person stole a charity donation box placed in front of one of the shops in the Tashabbus neighborhood of Yangihayot district and fled the scene. As a result of measures taken, the individual suspected of committing the theft was identified and detained.

It was stated that a pre-investigation inquiry is currently being conducted by the Yangihayot District Department of Internal Affairs. A lawful decision will be made based on the outcome of the inquiry.

It is worth noting that earlier in Khorezm region, a person who attempted to steal money from a charity donation box was detained by an officer of the National Guard’s security service.
