A kindergarten educator in Tashkent was dismissed for mistreating a child

A viral video depicting a teacher's inappropriate behavior towards a young child at a kindergarten caught attention on social media, prompting a response from the Children's Ombudsman.

On March 27 of this year, a parent, N.H., reported to the preschool and school education department of Yunusobod district regarding the mistreatment of their child, S.Kh., at the district's preschool institution.

According to the complaint, educator S.I. admitted to being harsh with the child for crying during a daytime session and acknowledged raising a hand, resulting in bruises on the child's arm.

Following an investigation by the Yunusobod district's education department, it was confirmed that the educator’s conduct was uncharacteristically harsh and not in line with pedagogical standards.

On March 29, disciplinary action was taken against educator S.I., leading to the termination of their employment contract.

The Yunusobod district prosecutor's office is currently probing the matter.
