7297A man who killed five members of a family in the Tashkent region has been sentenced to life imprisonment. This was reported by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.
On November 28, the Tashkent Regional Court concluded the trial of the first-instance criminal case against Z.S., a man born in 1995 in the Namangan region. The court delivered its verdict.
The criminal case was considered in a closed session under the chairmanship of B. Rozikov, a judge for criminal cases of the Tashkent Regional Court, following Article 19 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Z.S. was found guilty of multiple crimes, including:
- Murder (Article 97, Part 2, Subparagraphs “a”, “v”, “j”, “z”, “i”),
- Indecent Assault (Article 118, Part 1),
- Desecration of a Grave (Article 134),
- Invasion (Article 164, Part 3, Subparagraphs “v”, “g”),
- Intentional Destruction or Damage to Property (Article 173, Part 2, Subparagraph “b”).
Under Article 59 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to life imprisonment to be served in a special regime colony.
The court informed the parties that they have the right to appeal or file a cassation protest against the verdict within the timeframe established by law.
Details of the incident
On July 26, at 06:19, authorities received a report of a fire in an apartment on Nurafshon Street in the Yangiyul district. Firefighters from the Yangiyul district Fire and Rescue Department extinguished the blaze.
During the inspection, the bodies of a man (born in 1991), a woman (born in 1999), two children (born in 2021 and 2022), and a girl (born in 2018) were found. All had suffered various injuries. The deceased were identified as a married couple, their two children, and their niece.
The suspect, a 29-year-old relative of the victims, was detained. Preliminary information revealed that the crime stemmed from a debt dispute between the suspect and the family.
