Court penalizes private school teacher for physical harm to student

6244In Sergeli district, Tashkent, a teacher at the “Mudarris” private school was fined 1.5 million UZS for physically assaulting a 7th-grade student. The incident was reported by QALAMPIR.UZ, which reviewed court documents related to the case.
According to the documents, on April 4, teacher A.T. struck student A.A. multiple times during an event at the school, causing minor injuries. The student’s father, Sh.M., filed a complaint with law enforcement. A medical examination conducted on April 17 classified the injuries as light physical harm.
During the trial on April 23, A.T. admitted to hitting the student on the head and chest, claiming the student had been speaking loudly and showing disrespect during the event. A.T. requested leniency from the court.
The Sergeli District Criminal Court found A.T. guilty under Article 52, Part 2 of the Administrative Liability Code for causing light physical harm. The court imposed a fine equivalent to four times the base calculation amount (BHM), totaling 1.5 million UZS.
In a similar case in Sherobod district, Surxondaryo region, a primary school teacher slapped a student for damaging seasonal flowers in the school’s garden.
