9-year-old child dies during surgery in Tashkent

Reports have circulated on social media that a 9-year-old child who went to a private clinic in Tashkent for a nasal surgery has died. In order to clarify the situation, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted the press secretary of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Hayot Shamsutdinov.

According to him, an inquiry is being conducted by the Mirzo Ulugbek district Prosecutor’s Office of Tashkent city regarding this incident.

"The investigation will be conducted comprehensively, thoroughly, and impartially, and a lawful decision will be made based on its outcome", Shamsutdinov said.

It is worth noting that earlier, a 16-year-old girl who underwent nasal surgery in Samarkand city died in the hospital. The mother of the deceased stated that doctors told her the girl’s heart could not withstand the surgery, but she maintained that her daughter had been healthy. A service inspection has been launched regarding the actions of the staff of the Regional multidisciplinary medical center by the regional Health department.
