In Tashkent's Yangihayot district, authorities uncovered a farm illegally consuming 751.6 million soums of electricity. This discovery was reported by the Department of Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.

In the "Chortoq" neighborhood area of Yangihayot district, resident O.K. was found to have illegally used 751.6 million soums of electricity in the basement of his home. He secretly connected five sets of devices to the electricity network for commercial purposes.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 169 (theft) and Article 278-9 (illegal operation of a mine) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are currently underway.

For context, during the 43rd plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on August 4, 2023, it was made legal to obtain licenses for activities such as mining, crypto-depository, and crypto-store. However, mining activities conducted without a permit or with forged documents are subject to a fine of 150 times the base calculation amount (BCA).

It is worth mentioning that a similar incident was reported earlier in Qibray, where a mining farm had stolen electricity worth 733 million soums.
