6866Some people trying to smuggle 40kg of drugs to another country were caught in the capital Tashkent. This was reported by the State Security Service.
2 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and 1 citizen of the Republics of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan were detained during a quick operation conducted by the State Security Service. Of them, 12kg 800 grams of “opium” and 27kg 50 grams of “hashish” narcotic substances were obtained according to the procedural order.
It was found that the narcotics that were smuggled into Uzbekistan were to be exported to another country through the territory of the republic.
The arrested persons tried to escape from the scene of the incident, disobeying the legal requirements of the State Security Service.
“Currently, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service has opened a criminal case against these citizens in accordance with the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out,” the statement of the State Security Service said.
