A court in Tashkent delivered a verdict against a school teacher caught accepting a $200 bribe, as reported by the press service of the Tashkent City Courts.

In January, a female teacher from a school in Tashkent's Sergeli district was apprehended for accepting a $200 bribe. The bribe was intended to secure a job at the school for the citizens who offered it.

"This is the first time in my career that I have inadvertently been involved in such a situation. It has never happened before, and it will never happen again. I am deeply sorry and apologize to everyone," the woman stated.

The Sergeli district court found her guilty and sentenced her to a restriction of freedom for 2 years and 1 month. She was also banned from holding positions involving leadership or financial responsibility in state educational institutions for one year.

Previously, in Bukhara, another teacher was caught accepting a bribe of $2,000.
