Construction work has been fully suspended at 59 sites in Tashkent due to incomplete documentation. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent city administration.

According to the statement, numerous cases of construction violations and non-compliance with legal requirements have been identified in the capital in recent months. Several developers began construction without securing the required permits, expert evaluations, and technical certifications, and attempted to illegally sell housing units to citizens. As a result, many individuals who trusted these unscrupulous companies have lost their savings and been left without housing.

The city administration, in coordination with relevant authorities, has adopted a firm and principled stance on the issue. In several districts of Tashkent, construction has been completely halted at 59 facilities lacking the necessary documentation, and these sites have been disconnected from the power grid.

In particular, construction was suspended at:

  •  5 sites in Chilonzor and Almazar districts,
  •  8 in Mirabad,
  •  7 in Mirzo Ulugbek,
  •  3 in Sergeli, Yashnobod, and Bektemir districts,
  •  2 in Uchtepa and Yakkasaroy districts,
  •  4 in Yunusobod, and
  •  17 in Yangihayot district.

Monitoring and inspection efforts are ongoing, and legal measures will be taken for each violation.

The Tashkent city administration urges residents to be extremely cautious when purchasing property and advises the following:

  •  Always request and thoroughly check the original documents related to the property (including the cadastral certificate, expert evaluations, council decisions, and technical inspection reports).
  •  Avoid paying in cash or through unofficial channels; carefully review all contract clauses before signing.
  •  If there is any doubt about the legality of the construction or the developer delays providing documents, report the issue through the official website of the Tashkent city administration. Citizens will then be informed of the legal status of the property.

“Dear entrepreneurs and builders! Before starting any construction or sales activity, please ensure that all required documentation is in place. The Tashkent city administration will take strict and decisive action against any violations of construction regulations or activities that harm citizens’ interests,” the statement reads.

As a reminder, during recent intensified inspections by the Construction and Housing and Communal Services Inspection, substandard construction sites were demolished in the Samarkand region.
