Father arrested for raping daughter in Tashkent region (video)

A man in one of the districts of the Tashkent region has been arrested for raping his daughter, according to a report by the National Agency for Social Protection.

Authorities stated that, to determine the family's social status and assess their need for assistance, a social worker from the agency referred the family for a routine medical examination. During this examination, the girl disclosed details about the abuse that she had previously been unable to share. This prompted an official investigation to be launched.

To safeguard the girl, she was initially placed in a family orphanage. After a thorough assessment, she was transferred to the care of her mother.

“She is currently under constant protection and is undergoing recovery. She is receiving medical, psychological, and social support.

The National Agency for Social Protection has provided comprehensive assistance to the victim and coordinated the actions of relevant services. As a result, the girl received protection, and the perpetrator faced legal consequences,” the agency’s statement noted.

On July 24, following a court ruling, the man was found guilty of committing a serious crime against his child. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison under Part 3, Subparagraphs “a”, “b”, and “e” of Article 118 (Indecent assault) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It is also worth noting that, earlier in Angren, Tashkent region, there were reports that a 15-year-old minor girl was raped by four young men, sparking considerable public debate. A criminal case was initiated by the Angren City Department of Internal Affairs on April 9 this year, and preliminary investigations are ongoing. Children’s Ombudsman Surayyo Rakhmonova visited Angren on July 24 to review the case. The victim has now been placed in a specialized medical facility in Tashkent.
