Regular railway service will resume between Tashkent and Almaty

From 2 May of the current year, regular trains will run between Tashkent and Almaty (Kazakhstan). This is reported by JSC «Uzbekistan Railways».

The train will run three times a week on the route Almaty-2 – Tashkent – Almaty-2. The train will depart from the station “Tashkent-Central” to Kazakhstan every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, the Almaty-2 railway station serves the Uzbek side.

Earlier, we reported on the resumption of regular railway traffic between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan since 1 April of the current year. The Nukus-Beineu-Nukus route will be launched early next month.

For reference, owing to the stabilization of the epidemiological situation in Uzbekistan, the borders with Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have been opened.
