Initial reports indicated that a failure occurred in a 1200 mm diameter water conduit at the intersection of Moyqorgon and Qoraqamish streets in the 6th daha of the "Turkiston" neighborhood, Yunusobod district, Tashkent. This caused the flooding of these streets. However, further investigation revealed that the failure was actually in an 800 mm diameter water conduit, as confirmed by "Uzsuvtaminot" JSC.

The incident occurred on July 3 at around 4:00 AM, caused by a temporary power outage at a nearby boiler house. The accident happened due to a joint failure in the pipes, leading to water leakage. This resulted in the flooding of many basements. The responding brigade initially worked within the pipe to release the trapped water.

"Brigades from all districts have been mobilized. Efforts are underway to resolve the accident. Traffic and other issues will be addressed promptly. The power outage at the boiler house caused an increase in pipeline pressure, leading to an emergency. Everyone, from top officials to ordinary workers, is involved. There is no need to panic," stated Ravshan Yoqubjonov, head of the company's information service.

The Ministry of Emergencies reported that no injuries or fatalities occurred in the incident.

Previously, it was announced that public transport in some areas would be temporarily restricted due to the flooding in Tashkent.
