The mayor of Tashkent, Shavkat Umurzoqov, conducted an inspection in the "Sobirobod" neighborhood of Yunusobod district, examining the quality of products in a local food store. This visit was reported by the press service of the Tashkent city administration.

The press service noted that the visit highlighted several serious issues needing resolution, including the presence of illegal devices obstructing infrastructure development and safe pedestrian movement.

"The presence of these issues requires immediate intervention and legal compliance," stated the governor's office.

Additionally, it was discovered that commercial facilities in the neighborhood fail to meet sanitary, epidemiological, and fire standards, with rotten vegetables and fruits being sold.

"Moreover, the streets in the neighborhood are littered with waste, leading to unsanitary conditions. Residents discarding garbage in unmarked areas are partly to blame. The scarcity of waste collection points exacerbates the issue. Unremoved construction waste deteriorates the area's appearance and obstructs movement. Additionally, untrimmed dry tree branches pose a risk of falling and injuring people, especially during windy weather.

Ditches filled with waste are polluting drainage systems and causing waterlogging during the rainy season, which could result in flooding and worsened sanitary conditions," the report stated.

During the visit, the mayor also reviewed the capital reconstruction process of school No. 259.

However, the mayor's actions in the store have sparked debate on social media. Users and activists are criticizing him for his treatment of the seller and for discarding the seller's product.
