Earlier, videos circulated on social media depicted a law enforcement raid at a construction site in Yekaterinburg, Russia, with migrants compelled to crawl. The Foreign Labor Migration Agency confirmed that among the affected individuals were citizens from Uzbekistan.

The incident occurred on January 17 at a Yekaterinburg construction site, where law enforcement subjected migrant workers to inhumane treatment and discrimination.

Reports indicate that temporary laborers from Central Asian countries were involved in the construction work. During the raid, two Uzbek citizens were arrested for working without a patent. They were subsequently placed in a temporary detention center in Yekaterinburg following a court decision.

The Uzbeks claimed that migrants, forced to crawl, attempted to flee upon law enforcement's entry into the construction building. However, they were apprehended while escaping from the rear of the structure. In response, law enforcement officers compelled them to sit and walk.

The Consulate General in Yekaterinburg and the Foreign Labor Migration Agency's representative office in Russia are currently overseeing the situation, providing legal assistance to compatriots.

To address the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan initially contacted Russian authorities, followed by the Human Rights Representative (Ombudsman) of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, who also appealed to the Federation's Ombudsman.
