2886For the first time, Uzbekistan has successfully repatriated minors from a Children's Home located within penal institutions in Russia. This significant development was reported by "Dunyo" and marks a milestone in the country's efforts to protect its citizens abroad.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan completed the repatriation process of Uzbek children whose parents are serving sentences at the Mordovian penal institution in Russia's Volga Federal District. This achievement follows extensive measures and long-term negotiations between Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Russian authorities.
"Diplomatic efforts led to an agreement permitting the transfer of the children from the Children's Home situated within the penal facility. The minors were safely brought back to Uzbekistan, accompanied by diplomats, representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and medical personnel," the report states.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of these repatriation efforts, underscoring Uzbekistan's commitment to ensuring the welfare of its citizens, even in challenging circumstances.
This is not the first case of Uzbekistan's proactive diplomatic efforts. Earlier, Uzbek diplomats in Beijing negotiated the return of 11 Uzbek women who had faced difficult living conditions during their temporary stay in China.
