Tashkent ranks 1st in the world for air pollution

Today, October 6, the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, ranked first among the world’s major cities in terms of air pollution. The data was reported by the IQAir portal.

As of 09:00, the concentration of fine PM2.5 particles in Tashkent’s air was measured at 59.8 μg/m³.
For reference, in such weather conditions, residents are advised to avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary. Citizens suffering from chronic respiratory diseases are especially urged to use medical masks.

After returning indoors from outside, it is recommended to wash the face and hands thoroughly, prevent dust accumulation inside the home, keep doors and windows tightly closed, and clean them several times a day with a damp cloth.
It is worth noting that on September 22 of this year, Tashkent also ranked first among the world’s major cities for air pollution.
