The Mufti of Uzbekistan hosted officials from the Taliban

Nur Muhammad Soqib, the Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs in Afghanistan's interim government, held talks with Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiqnazarov, the Mufti of Uzbekistan, as announced by the ministry's press service.

Mufti Nuriddin Kholiqnazarov and the Afghan embassy staff in Tashkent warmly greeted the guests upon their arrival at the Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport.

Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations, fostering close collaboration, expediting cooperation between Afghan and Uzbek scholars, exchanging insights on mosque and school education, and addressing religious matters.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with officials from other governments and visit Islamic centers in Samarkand and Bukhara.

Recall that on March 16, the Chairman of the Office of Muslims in Uzbekistan, Nuriddin Kholiqnazarov, extended an invitation to a senior delegation from Afghanistan's Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs.
