“Taliban” delegation will participate in the conference in Tashkent

The Taliban delegation will participate in the international conference on Afghanistan to be held in Tashkent from 25 to 26 July.  Yesterday 11 July, the (acting) Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov stated this during his visit to Moscow.

“Today we are waiting for the arrival of the delegation of the Taliban, which is the real force in this country”, - Norov said at the round table in Moscow.

He noted that the participation of the Taliban in the conference “Does not mean their recognition”.

“With this conference, we want to convey to the current authorities that it is aimed at ensuring that they fulfill their international commitments made at the Tashkent meeting and the agreements signed there”, - Norov says.

Norov stressed that the positions of Russia, Uzbekistan, and neighboring countries are adequate, “Taliban” should fulfill their commitments agreed and form an inclusive government, which will include representatives of all political, ethnic, and religious groups of the country.

For reference, an international conference on Afghanistan will be held in Tashkent on 25 and 26 July, with the participation of more than 20 state delegations.
