Representatives of the Taliban interim government in Afghanistan have requested Uzbekistan to cancel concerts and musical programs at the general market in Termez. This was reported by "Atlaspress", citing sources.

It was noted that Afghan citizens can access the joint border market in Termez without a visa. Music programs have been organized for visitors, and there have been instances where Uzbek artists performed concerts. The Taliban opposes these musical events and has urged the Uzbek government to prevent them from taking place.

Failure to comply with this request could result in Afghan citizens being barred from entering the market, according to the source.

For context, the Termez International Trade Center began operations in the Surkhandarya region in August. Under the current agreement, Afghan citizens can stay and travel within this market for up to 15 days without a visa.

It is also important to mention that Tajikistan previously called on the Taliban to establish an inclusive government.
