Uzbekistan has lifted the ban on wearing the «hijab and other religious clothes» by medical workers by order of the Minister of Health of the country. According to the report of the MP of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) Rasul Kusherbayev, the order of the Minister of Health «On the approval of the Code of Ethics» has been adopted.

According to Health Minister Order N:34 of 20 January 2016, medical personnel were prohibited from wearing hijab and other religious clothing. That order has now been rescinded.

Following this, the members of the Parliament noted that the current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan does not restrict citizens from wearing the hijab and other religious clothing.
