President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of conducting an effective foreign policy, expanding Uzbekistan's circle of friends and partners, and strengthening regional cooperation with neighboring countries for the country's comprehensive development. He spoke about this during a meeting with the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on November 20.

The President highlighted the necessity of adopting a new version of Uzbekistan's foreign policy concept. Strengthening good neighborly relations in Central Asia, ensuring regional security and stability, and deepening ties with neighboring countries will continue to be a priority in the country's foreign policy.

A significant step forward in this direction will be the upcoming "Central Asian Five" meeting to be hosted by Uzbekistan next year.

Currently, citizens of Uzbekistan can travel to Kyrgyzstan using only an ID card. The government plans to introduce a similar procedure for travel to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

President Mirziyoyev also stressed the importance of further developing systematic relations with Central Asian countries, influential international and regional organizations, and financial institutions, which will remain a focal point of Uzbekistan's foreign policy.

He also took the opportunity to warmly welcome the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations present at the meeting, thanking them for their support of Uzbekistan's reforms, their efforts to visit the regions, and for sharing the experiences of their countries.
