2563Senator Tanzila Narbayeva, nominated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the position of Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, has been re-elected by senators. This announcement was made by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
Senator Sodiq Safoev was elected First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, while Senator Amanbay Orinbayev assumed the role of Deputy Speaker.
President Mirziyoyev congratulated Tanzila Narbayeva, Sodiq Safoev, and Amanbay Orinbayev on earning the trust of their colleagues and wished them success in their responsibilities.
“Imagine this: out of a population of 37 million, only 65 individuals have been granted the high honor of serving as senators. It is our sacred duty to live up to this great trust with honest and faithful service.
I urge you to make a meaningful contribution to laying the foundation of New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance by enacting fair and people-centered laws, and by setting an exemplary standard for others to follow.
In you, esteemed senators, I see selfless individuals capable of great deeds, deeply aware of the strategic tasks ahead, and putting the interests of the Motherland and the people above all else.

Tanzila Narbayeva was born in Andijan in 1956 and moved to Tashkent in the mid-1970s. She graduated from Tashkent State University in 1981 and began her career in education, serving as a teacher, deputy director, and director of the Tashkent City Schoolchildren's House from 1975 to 1995.
She later transitioned into government roles, holding key positions including Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Secretariat for Social Protection, and Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan. From 2016 to 2019, she served as Deputy Prime Minister and Chair of the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan. In 2019, she became Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
Narbayeva is married with two daughters.
Following the October 27 elections for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local Kengashes, Tanzila Narbayeva was elected to the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies. The Council subsequently selected her as a senator, enabling her re-election as Senate Speaker.
