Tanzila Narbayeva meets with the President of Hungary

As part of her official visit to Budapest, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok. The Senate’s press service reported the meeting on 3 December.

At the beginning of the discussion, it was noted that cooperation between the two countries has significantly intensified in recent years, with mutual trust and friendly relations reaching the level of a strategic partnership.

The sides emphasized that the shared historical, traditional and cultural values connecting the peoples of both countries play an important role in strengthening bilateral relations.

They also paid special attention to expanding economic cooperation, including developing interregional ties and boosting trade between business communities of the two countries.

During the meeting, it was mentioned that 2026 has been declared the “Year of Culture, Science and Innovation between Uzbekistan and Hungary,” and the parties exchanged views on holding several major events in both countries.

The sides further discussed the consistent development of interparliamentary relations and the implementation of agreements reached at the level of the heads of state, which are expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

It is worth noting that on 2 December, Tanzila Narbayeva laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Heroes’ Square in Budapest and paid tribute to the defenders who fought for Hungary’s freedom.
