The procedure for placing students in the dormitory will be simplified

In Uzbekistan, the system of providing accommodation to students is being digitized, and they are being given a number of benefits.  This is provided for in the decision “On measures to improve the system of providing housing for students of higher educational institutions” adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic on August 14.

The decision approved the administrative regulation of the provision of state services for placement of students of state higher education institutions in student accommodation.

In the academic year 2023/2024, students of the 1st year can be accommodated in the student housing of state higher education institutions by submitting a free electronic application through the state service centers and the Unified interactive state services portal (my.gov.uz).  Applications will be accepted from August 20.

Also, residential rental contracts concluded with students are recorded online in the state tax service bodies through the personal office of the taxpayer remotely using biometric identification (Face-ID) technology.

However, placement of upper-year students in accommodation is done traditionally.  In this case, the application for accommodation of students is submitted to the commission for placing students in dormitories of higher educational institutions.

Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, all course students will be accommodated in the student housing of state higher education institutions only by submitting an electronic application through state service centers or my.gov.uz.  The application process starts from August 1 and lasts until the end of the academic year.
