The number of Uzbek students studying in the United States has reached a record high

The number of Uzbek students studying in the United States has reached a record high, surpassing a thousand, as reported by the US embassy in Uzbekistan.

This milestone was disclosed in the 2023 "Open Doors" report on international educational exchange, released on November 15. The report highlights a remarkable 72.6% increase compared to the previous academic year.

Specifically, during the 2021-2022 academic year, 631 Uzbek students were enrolled in US higher education institutions. By the 2022-2023 academic year, this number escalated to 1,890.

Among these students, 57.2% pursued undergraduate programs, 29.9% were enrolled in graduate programs, 7.9% participated in optional practicum courses, and 5% were engaged in English or other short-term education programs.

The report also noted that during the last academic year, the total number of international students in the United States exceeded one million, marking a 14% increase from the previous year and reaching a new high of 1,571,188 students.
