News about the death of three schoolchildren in a road traffic accident in the Sariosiyo district of Surkhandarya region has spread on social media. The Regional Road Safety Department has provided information regarding the incident.
The accident occurred on September 17 at 03:15. According to the information received by the district DIA Duty Department, a citizen born in 2004, who did not possess a driver’s license, was driving a Nexia-2 vehicle along the "Denov-Sariosiyo" route at the 1463rd kilometer of the M41 highway near the "Shabnam" neighborhood area in Sariosiyo district. The Nexia collided with a VAZ-2107 vehicle, driven by a citizen born in 2005, also without a driver's license, who was traveling in the opposite direction.
Preliminary reports from the scene indicate that three passengers, classmates of the VAZ-2107 driver, died in the crash. Other passengers in both vehicles sustained injuries and were taken to the district medical association for treatment.
A criminal case has been opened by the Investigative Group of the Sariosiyo District DIA, and investigative procedures are currently underway.
It should be noted that a separate traffic accident involving three cars recently occurred in Tashkent.
