Tragic fall claims life of 17-year-old schoolgirl in Surkhandarya

A tragic incident occurred in Surkhandarya on October 29, where a 17-year-old girl fell from the eighth floor of a residential building and lost her life. Hayat Shamsutdinov, press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, shared this information with QALAMPIR.UZ.

The accident took place around 9:00 p.m. in an apartment building located in the "Buyuk Nekak" mahalla. The girl, who lived with her family on the 13th floor, fell from the sixth floor and succumbed to her injuries on the scene.

The family had moved into the building earlier in 2023, and the girl was their eldest child.

According to her school director, the girl was a diligent student, well-integrated among her peers, and had no known conflicts.

"She was a good, well-educated girl who had her place both at school and in the neighborhood. We are truly sorry. There was no negative situation with his parents in the neighborhood. He was among a model family," said the chairman of the neighborhood in an interview with the "Zamon" program.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, with a forensic examination ordered to determine the cause of death. The district prosecutor's office is leading the investigation.

This tragedy follows a similar incident in Tashkent, where a 15-year-old boy fell from his apartment window on August 4. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, the teenager did not survive.
