About 90 kg of narcotics imported from Tajikistan were seized in Surkhandarya, as reported by the State Security Service.


A substantial quantity of narcotics from Tajikistan was confiscated as a result of operational search activities conducted in collaboration with the employees of the Surkhandarya Region Department of the State Security Service and military personnel of the Border Troops.


For instance, near the Uzbek-Tajik state border that traverses the village of Chashma in Sariosia district, authorities discovered 39 kg 409 g of "heroin," 35 kg 745 g of "opium," and 14 kg 545 g of "hashish" contained in four backpacks, formalized in accordance with procedural protocols.


Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 246, Part 2 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code, and necessary measures are underway to ascertain the identity of the owners of these drugs, which have a total weight of 89 kg 699 g.
