Earlier, it was reported that Tuhfatkhuja Anvarkhujaev, the director of Ultimo Group Limited, a company engaged in the trade of gas resources in Uzbekistan, filed a lawsuit against a journalist from "Ozodlik" radio and the media outlet itself following an inquiry about his company.

The Shaykhontohur Inter-district Civil Court has ordered "Ozodlik" radio and its journalist Lazizkhon Olimov (also known as Aziz Nur) to retract all of their statements and to pay 100 million soums in compensation for moral damages to the entrepreneur. This is according to the court document obtained by QALAMPIR.UZ.

It was noted that Lazizkhon Olimov and "Ozodlik" Radio, both named as defendants, did not attend the court session and failed to provide a reason for their absence, despite being duly informed of the time and place of the hearing. In light of this, the court deemed it necessary to proceed with the case in their absence, by Article 220 of the Civil Procedure Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Experts brought to the court reported that the words, phrases, and expressions used in the disputed video materials, along with their content, negatively impacted the honor, dignity, and business reputation of the plaintiff.
