73-year-old man detained for hiding marijuana in hay bale press (video)

A man was detained in the Bukhara region for hiding marijuana inside a hay bale press, the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the statement, during an оперативe operation, law enforcement officers inspected the home of a retired citizen born in 1953 and residing in the “Otbazor” neighborhood, in the presence of witnesses. A blue package hidden among hay bales in the gatehouse was discovered. Inside the package, officers found 60.58 grams of a green, pungent-smelling substance identified as marijuana. The evidence was documented and seized in accordance with established procedures.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Part 2 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code (illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and other actions involving narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances). An investigation is underway.

Earlier, authorities reported that 20 kilograms of marijuana had been discovered at the home of a 75-year-old resident in the Jalakuduk district of the Andijan region.
