4126Today, on July 16, the Council of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held its meeting, where the bill titled "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was reviewed in detail during its second reading.
The draft law introduces administrative liability for offenses committed while operating small electric motor vehicles and individual mobility devices. Proposed amendments specify that incidents captured via photo and video recording will not lead to legal consequences if a decision is not made within a specified short period.
The Code also stipulates that fines for traffic violations recorded by automated photo and video equipment will be imposed if there is no information about the vehicle owner. Additionally, if information on traffic violations is not sent to the authorized official within 48 hours, the case will be terminated.
A new procedure will be introduced to terminate administrative cases related to violations committed by ambulance and fire rescue units, ensuring the process is free of excessive bureaucracy.
This draft law, adopted by the deputies in the third reading, aims to protect citizens' legal interests by ensuring compliance with traffic rules, preventing accidents, and enhancing road safety.
It is worth noting that it was previously announced that traffic rules would be updated to include regulations for scooters and electric vehicles.
