Legal violation totaling 954 million sums was identified in state procurements in Syrdarya

A breach of the law was discovered in state procurements amounting to 954 million sums, carried out by the Sirdarya District Development Department. This was reported by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

It was noted that an investigation was conducted into the compliance with the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Competition" and "On State Procurement" concerning the procurements executed by the Regional Department of the Competition Committee of the Syrdarya Region within the Department of Improvement of the Syrdarya District.

The investigation revealed violations of Article 29 of the Law "On Competition" and Article 46 of the Law "On State Procurement" during the assessment of participants in the procurement process for the acquisition of an "Excavator-Loader" with an initial cost of 954 million sums on June 14 of this year.

"Relevant information has been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for a legal assessment of these violations," the report stated.

It should be noted that 439 anti-competitive actions were previously recorded in Syrdarya.
