Anti-competitive actions were detected during 102 billion sum trade in Syrdarya

Authorities have uncovered 439 anti-competitive actions in the Syrdarya region, according to a report by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

The report highlights that during the first six months of this year, the committee's regional administration in Syrdarya oversaw public procurements amounting to 1,778.2 billion sums across 29,241 contracts awarded by budgetary entities. In the course of their oversight, the administration discovered that anti-competitive practices occurred in transactions totaling 102.34 billion sums.

The majority of these violations occurred in the following sectors:

  • Preschool and school education: 57 instances totaling 3.6 billion sums
  • Health sector: 110 instances totaling 4.6 billion sums
  • Road construction: 111 instances totaling 81.1 billion sums
  • Other sectors: 161 instances totaling 12.34 billion sums

Of the 439 violations, 386 cases have been referred to law enforcement agencies for further action.

Regarding 37 incidents, the regional administration initiated 38 cases and imposed administrative measures against 39 officials.

It should be noted that earlier, the Competition Committee initiated proceedings against "Orient Group Management" LLC and the joint venture "Uzbek-Oman Investment Company" LLC.
