Akmaljon Makhmudaliyev has been officially approved as the governor of Sirdarya region, according to the regional administration.

On November 7, the first session of the seventh convocation of the Sirdarya Regional Council of People's Deputies took place. Zafar Khakimov, chairman of the Regional Election Commission, presented the results of the October 27 elections.

During the session, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev nominated Akmaljon Azimjonovich Makhmudaliyev for the position of governor. Following this nomination, the Council of People's Deputies of the Syrdarya region approved Makhmudaliyev's appointment.

Additionally, during the session, Deputy Pokiza Shavkatovna Akhmedjanova was elected as chair of the Council of People's Deputies of the Syrdarya region. The session also included the registration of party groups of newly elected deputies, approval of council regulations, and the establishment of permanent commissions.

It is worth noting that the governors of Surkhandarya, Andijan, Samarkand, Khorezm, Navoi, Jizzakh, Bukhara, Tashkent region, Tashkent city, Kashkadarya, and Fergana regions were previously confirmed in their posts.
