Former governor joins Ministry of Ecology

13192Erkin Mukhitdinov, former governor of the Ahangaron district in the Tashkent region, has taken up a new role at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change. The ministry's press service announced his appointment.
Mukhitdinov will now serve as the Head of the Department for Forestry, Biodiversity, and Ecotourism Policy Implementation within the ministry.
Born in 1976 in Andijan, Mukhitdinov holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics. He graduated from the Andijan Institute of Economic Management in 1997, the Academy of Banking and Finance in 2000, and the Higher School of the Institute of Developing Economies (IDEAS-JETRO, Japan) in 2007. He is also a recipient of the Order of Friendship.
Previously, Mukhitdinov held various roles, including Deputy Minister of Poverty Reduction and Employment. From August 2023 to May 2024, he served as governor of the Ahangaron district. In May 2024, he was appointed First Deputy Governor of the Tashkent region.
It is worth noting that Hafiza Tuymurodovna Ortikova was also recently appointed Deputy Governor of the Bukhara region, where she heads the Family and Women's Department.
