Fans of AS Roma, where Uzbekistan's national team captain Eldor Shomurodov plays, are planning a protest following the dismissal of head coach Daniele De Rossi, according to reports from Football Italia.
The club recently announced De Rossi’s departure after just four matches into the Serie A season, appointing Croatian coach Ivan Jurić as his replacement. This decision came only weeks after De Rossi’s contract had been extended until June 2027.
Jurić, the former Torino and Genoa manager, is set to take charge for his debut match against Serie A leaders Udinese on September 22 at the Stadio Olimpico.
In response, Roma fans are planning to boycott the start of the match in protest. The Curva Sud, known for its passionate support, is expected to remain empty for the first 30 minutes, including the pre-match warm-up and the playing of the club’s anthem.
Roma supporters have issued a call for fans on social media to join the protest.
So far this season, Roma has struggled, failing to secure a win in their first four matches of Serie A. The team has accumulated just 3 points and currently sits 16th in the standings.
